AN INVITATION TO CHATEAU DU GRAND LUCE by Timothy Corrigan - lecture and book signing

November 5th at Bonhams, was the date and place where Interior Designer Timothy Corrigan had a book signing and lecture about the restoration of a neglected, but important French chateau he decided to buy and make his home, cheerfully supported by members of the French Heritage Society, who were in the midst of celebrating their 30th Anniversary by conducting diverse chateau tours following in the footsteps of King Louis XIV through the southwest of France.

Timothy Corrigan's first book, An Invitation to Chateau du Grand-Lucé was published by Rizzoli.

After purchasing the chateau from the French Government, Corrigan bravely set about restoring the house and it's gardens to their full glory. The book travels from the welcoming entry hall to the delightful bedrooms, as Corrigan offers indispensable decorating advice based on his experiences, including how to live in historic homes in a modern way.

Prior to forming his design firm in 1998, Timothy had a successful career in advertising where he headed up Bates Worldwide’s international operations.


In addition to design services, Timothy has curated an extensive antique collection that is available for sale on his website and 1stdibs.com. He is designing several new tabletop collections for the legendary, Royal Limoges, and will be designing the first fully integrated line of fabrics, trims, furniture and floor covering for F. Schumacher, to be introduced in February 2014.




In charge of introducing Timothy to an eagerly awaiting public, was Guy N. Robinson, Co-Chairman of the New York Chapter of the French Heritage Society, and also husband to Elizabeth Stribling.
